OEM/ODM aluminum red-sand casting enquiries combine a custom component drawing with optional machining and a selected surface treatment. Specify the complete aluminum grade and the actual sand or mold process requested. The quotation should identify the condition of the part at delivery and the interfaces that determine its fit.
Translate the drawing into acceptance limits
Tolerances follow the customer’s drawing requirements. Mark the datums, mating faces and dimensions that control assembly, including whether they apply before or after surface treatment. Distinguish cast surfaces from interfaces requiring subsequent machining so the requested supply stage is clear.
Select a treatment for the actual substrate
Finish choices include blasting, polishing, powder coating, zinc plating and chrome plating. Choose the treatment appropriate to the selected metal, appearance and contact requirements. Define coverage and any masking where the finish could affect a fitted or contacting surface.
- Provide quantity and the controlled drawing revision.
- State the grade and required material condition.
- Identify material, dimensional and appearance records.
- Define sample approval against the final supplied state.
Identify the applicable technical documents
Standard families include GB, ASTM, AISI, DIN and BS; identify the actual document, edition and requirement relevant to the component. ISO9001:2008 and TS16949 are qualification references requiring applicable documents and scope. Bring those requirements into the quotation alongside the drawing and selected finish, so component approval and supplier qualification each have a defined basis.
