Aluminum-alloy automotive hardware can be requested through die or sand casting with polishing and heat treatment. Select the complete alloy, compatible route and required condition for the actual component. Its drawing should define the supplied geometry and relationships with the intended automotive assembly.
Identify the hardware’s working role
Show where the part mounts, locates or contacts adjoining components. Describe the operating duty and environment relevant to that design. Connect the material requirements to the actual hardware function rather than a broad automotive label.
Define the required treatment condition
Specify the heat-treatment procedure and final material condition appropriate to the selected alloy and route. Identify the material records needed to assess that requirement. Keep treatment acceptance connected to the actual supplied component and the drawing under which it is approved.
Set polished-surface and fit requirements
Mark the faces receiving polishing and the appearance or contact result needed at each. Distinguish those areas from cast-state regions and any interfaces requiring another supplied result. Establish locating references, functional dimensional limits and measurement conditions for relationships governing installation.
Agree the component-approval evidence
State the hardware quantity and controlling revision, identifying material, dimensional and surface records required for acceptance. Explain what an initial item must demonstrate against the mating assembly. Retain accepted alloy, geometry and treatment changes with that part definition when confirming further automotive casting requests.
