Aluminum- and zinc-alloy component enquiries are offered with die, sand, investment or lost-foam casting selected for the actual drawing. Brass, bronze, copper, hardened-metal and precious-metal requests can be defined separately through their complete material and manufacturing requirements.
Match the route and treatment to the alloy
Identify the component grade, geometry and required delivered condition. Quenching and tempering or solution and aging are named heat-treatment choices to assign to the selected alloy. The quotation should establish the actual route and treatment requirement for that item.
Specify the dimensional and material checks
Inspection scope includes metallographic analysis, MT, UT, RT, CMM, 100% visual checks and 100% gauge checks. Select the methods, inspected areas and acceptance limits needed by the component design. Define how the relevant material and geometric requirements will be recorded for approval.
- Provide 2D PDF/CAD or 3D IGES/STEP information.
- Select the full grade and compatible casting process.
- Specify any heat-treated condition and finish.
- Mark controlled dimensions and inspection coverage.
- State quantity and application-acceptance requirements.
Complete finishing and documentation
Powder coating, zinc plating, laser engraving and sandblasting are named surface options. Identify their coverage and any surfaces needing protection. Specify the relevant ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF or AS documents and request applicable ISO9001:2015 and IATF16949 supplier scope. Automotive, motorcycle, energy, medical-device and robotics parts should include their own controlled duty and acceptance brief.
