Drawing-based copper-alloy enquiries cover brass or copper sand-cast components and separately specified bronze bushings made by centrifugal casting with machining. Identify the required valve part or bushing before selecting its grade and manufacturing route. The quoted deliverable should match the actual geometry and supplied condition.
Define the interfaces to be measured
Show mating surfaces, locating datums and dimensions governing the component’s fit. For a bushing, identify the geometry controlling its relationship with adjacent parts. If using an existing bushing as the reference, identify worn areas before defining the ordered dimensions. A valve-component enquiry should state the relevant service and acceptance requirements for that selected item.
Connect normal reports to the drawing
Material and dimensional reports are normally provided. Specify which grade, dimensions and limits the order requires recorded, with the assessment stage clear for machined interfaces. Identify any additional checks requested by the design separately from those normal reports.
- Provide quantity and the controlled revision.
- Mark cast and finished-interface boundaries.
- Define the required final surface condition.
- Explain what a sample must demonstrate for approval.
Set documentation and communication requirements
Weekly order-status updates are listed for the selected supply. Request applicable ISO9001:2000, TUV, PED and AD-W2000A documents and establish their exact designations and scope. Keep qualification records, sample approval and production acceptance connected to the chosen metal, drawing and delivered component rather than a generic valve or bushing description.
