Custom intake-manifold and exhaust-pipe enquiries include cast-iron sand casting with machining to the customer's drawing. Aluminum, plastic, stainless steel and zinc components are additional material requests, each requiring its own grade, manufacturing scope and intended service.
Identify the intake or exhaust component
Provide the part drawing, connection geometry and the assembly in which it will be used. Mark the passages and mating interfaces that determine the component's fit and function. Select the actual material grade and explain the operating conditions relevant to the requested part.
- Identify the manifold, exhaust pipe or separate component.
- Specify the material grade and required process.
- Mark passage geometry and mating-interface dimensions.
- Define machined surfaces and dimensional acceptance.
- State quantity and required inspection records.
Assign the precision reference to agreed dimensions
The stated tolerance reference is ±0.001 mm. Define the dimensions, delivered stage and measurement basis to which the requirement applies rather than extending it across the rough casting. Quality control is stated as 100% inspection, so the order should identify the actual checks and limits needed for the chosen geometry.
Specify the governing documents and supplied condition
ANSI, DIN, GB and BS are named standard families; identify the exact documents required for the component and clarify any JIN document request. Agree the finished condition and application acceptance with the selected material and drawing. Alternative metal or plastic components should keep their own viable process and service requirements within the quotation.
