Clay-sand iron-casting enquiries include railway-bogie components with milling and separately specified agricultural ring wheels. Material choices are grey iron GG25 or ductile-iron grades GGG40, GGG45 and GGG50, selected for the actual component drawing.

Identify the bogie component or ring-wheel deliverable

A railway-bogie part should provide its mounting geometry and project-specific approval requirements. An agricultural ring wheel needs its own drawing and assembly context. Select the grade and operating-duty acceptance for each item so the enquiry concerns one defined component rather than a combined application.

Use the dimensions and casting class correctly

Ring-wheel outside-diameter choices are 500 mm, 700 mm or customized. CT8 is the stated casting class; agree the dimensions and inspection basis to which it applies. For any ±0.02 tolerance requirement, specify the unit, controlled locations and supplied stage before defining acceptance. Show how the wheel locates on its shaft or adjoining assembly.

  • Confirm the selected grade and governing material standard.
  • Identify the actual bogie part or agricultural ring wheel.
  • Specify outside diameter and mating geometry where relevant.
  • Mark milling requirements and dimensional checks.
  • Define coating, quantity and application acceptance.

Agree coating and qualification details

Powder-coating, EP, H.D.G and EG enquiries should identify the actual treatment specification and its coverage. Request applicable ISO/TS16949 supplier documents and scope with the component brief. Any railway approval or load requirement should be established through the selected project's design and test requirements, alongside the drawing and required delivered condition.
