Custom agricultural-component enquiries include ductile-iron or grey-iron sand castings made from customer drawings or samples. Select the complete grade and actual sand-casting or cast-iron-forming scope for the part. The machinery duty and supplied condition should accompany the geometry used for approval.
Place the grey-iron casting reference correctly
CT9–CT11 is the stated casting-tolerance reference for grey-cast-iron parts. Identify the dimensions and inspection basis to which it applies in the selected drawing. Keep the material family and delivered stage clear when defining requirements for a different requested component.
Specify the machined interfaces
CNC work, drilling, milling, boring and tapping are named operations. Mark the dimensions and datum relationships needed after those operations, together with surfaces accepted in their cast condition. A sample should be paired with the controlled geometry so worn areas do not become the required replacement form.
- State quantity and the drawing revision.
- Provide the full material condition and applicable standard.
- Identify mounting and mating geometry.
- Define dimensional and surface approval records.
Coordinate treatment and packing
Shot blasting, oiling and customer-requested surface treatment are named choices. Specify the selected process and any masking or contact-surface condition needed for assembly. Packing is a multilayer wooden case with a large inner plastic bag; include protection requirements for finished interfaces and connect approval to the same grade and supplied condition used for the order.
