Custom industrial component enquiries can be defined around a selected material, drawing and surface condition. This OEM scope includes ductile-iron castings with optional machining, alongside grey-iron, steel, wrought-iron and ADC12 requests. Sand casting and hot-galvanized finishes should be specified for the actual component and material.

Select one material and route for the ordered part

Identify the grade and required manufacturing route for the component. Ductile iron, grey iron, steel, wrought iron and ADC12 remain separate material or product enquiries. Describe the intended heavy-duty industrial use through its actual operating conditions and design requirements.

  • Provide the part drawing and required custom dimensions.
  • Name the selected material grade and manufacturing requirement.
  • Mark controlled interfaces and the applicable tolerance convention.
  • State quantity, color and required delivered surface condition.

Apply the tolerance reference to defined dimensions

The stated tolerance reference is 0.01 mm. Identify the dimensions, delivered stage and acceptance method to which the requirement applies. Optional machining should be described through the finished interfaces on the drawing, with the numerical convention made explicit for inspection.

Define the finish and sample requirement

Surface treatment and color follow customer requirements, with sample service available. If hot galvanizing is requested, identify the selected metal and design so that the finishing scope can be agreed for that part. Describe what the sample must demonstrate and the supplied condition needed for evaluation.

Address the applicable qualification documents

ISO9001:2008 is the stated certification reference. Identify the relevant current supplier documentation and scope required by purchasing. The component drawing and acceptance criteria should establish the industrial-duty requirement without assigning a numerical rating from the general heavy-duty description.
