Custom gearbox-component enquiries combine sand casting with CNC machining, using dimensions from customer drawings or samples. Identify the actual casting needed within the gearbox assembly. A complete part definition should connect its material requirement, supplied condition and controlled geometry to the equipment it serves.

Show how the gearbox component fits

Provide the interfaces to adjoining components and the datums establishing their relationships. Mark attachment positions, locating faces and any passages relevant to the design. State operating conditions and assembly requirements that determine the casting’s acceptance criteria.

Define the CNC-controlled result

Distinguish surfaces requiring final machining from those supplied in their cast state. Put dimensional limits and the measurement condition on the drawing. Identify groups of dimensions that must be assessed together so the enquiry explains the required fit rather than relying on a general gearbox description.

Explain what a reference sample establishes

If a sample is supplied, identify whether it represents geometry, surface appearance or another acceptance characteristic. Resolve the controlling revision and any differences between the sample and drawing before quotation. Specify the complete alloy and required material condition for the component being requested.

Set qualification and order approval

TS16949 and ISO14000 documentation references are available for an applicable-scope enquiry. Request the relevant documents alongside component-specific material, dimensional and surface records. Include quantity and the approval deliverable so the ordered casting, CNC work and final acceptance share a clear part definition.
