Custom green-sand iron-component enquiries include five-axis machining requests with CNC lathe and milling-center work. Select grey or ductile iron and the complete grade for the drawing. OEM/ODM applications span industrial machinery, automotive and electrical components, each with its own functional interfaces and acceptance needs.

Assign precision at the correct stage

Casting tolerance is referenced as CT4–CT9. Machining references are ±0.005 mm and ISO2768-mk; identify the dimensions controlled individually and those governed by general tolerances. Mark the datums and final measurement stage for the geometry requiring the selected CNC work.

Choose the material condition and finish

Heat-treatment options include annealing, quench and temper, and ADI for an appropriate ductile-iron specification. Define the condition required by the part’s duty. Zinc plating, painting and powder coating are finish choices; specify coverage and masking where treatment interacts with fitted or contacting areas.

  • Provide quantity and the controlled drawing revision.
  • Identify cast and finished interfaces.
  • Define material and dimensional approval records.
  • State the required surface acceptance.
  • Describe the sample’s role in approving the supplied state.

Set the quality-planning submissions

PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, Control Plan and MSA are named planning references. Agree the deliverables required for the actual part and project stage, with an inspection plan connected to the drawing. Keep that approval basis consistent with the selected grade, treatment and manufacturing scope used for the production quotation.
