Aluminum-alloy automotive spare-part enquiries combine sand casting with CNC precision-machining requests. OEM/ODM customization should identify the actual replacement or new component, full alloy designation and required material condition. The component drawing gives the precision request its dimensional and assembly context.
Describe the automotive interfaces first
Show the mounting points, fitted openings and contact geometry that determine installation. Mark the datums from which those interfaces are checked and distinguish cast geometry from dimensions requiring CNC work. Where an existing part is the reference, identify wear or damage that should not govern the replacement shape.
- Provide the controlled drawing revision and quantity.
- State the required alloy and condition.
- Assign finished tolerances to functional dimensions.
- Identify material and dimensional approval records.
- Mark any areas requiring a protected surface.
Select the delivered surface for the part
Sandblasting, painting, polishing or a customer-requested finish can be specified. Define the appearance and coverage needed for the chosen treatment, including any masking around fitted areas. The measurement stage should correspond to the surface condition in which the part will be installed.
Connect standards and supplier qualification
GB, ASTM, AISI, DIN and BS are the standard references. Identify the document and alloy requirement applicable to the order, together with any design-specific acceptance. Request relevant ISO9001:2015 certificate scope alongside those requirements, keeping supplier qualification connected to the actual component supply.
