MaterialNatural Montmorillonite
Grey-white bentonite clay powder made from natural montmorillonite is offered for foundry molding-sand additive enquiries. Purchasing can be defined through the required fineness, composition, moisture and bag arrangement for the foundry's actual sand system.
Specify the grading required for incoming supply
For a 400-mesh request or a nominal 100–325-mesh selection, identify the grade needed and agree the actual particle-size distribution. State the grading test method used for acceptance. Keeping the mesh requirement with a measurable distribution gives the receiving team a useful reference for checking the supplied powder.
Compare the additive within the foundry process
The stated composition ranges are SiO2 55–65% and Al2O3 15–20%, with moisture at most 12%. Describe the sand system, casting process and properties needed from the additive. Evaluate the chosen material under the intended mixing and trial conditions so the grade comparison relates to the foundry's own process.
- Identify the molding-sand system and additive requirement.
- Select the fineness and particle-size acceptance limits.
- Specify composition, moisture and required batch data.
- Define trial conditions and the supply quantity needed.
- Describe the jumbo-bag or PP-bag packing requirement.
Connect packing with workshop handling
Agree the selected bag configuration and the way the powder will be received and introduced into the process. Record the accepted grade, batch checks and packing with the purchase order. This helps repeat supply follow the same material and handling requirements established during evaluation.
