OEM sand-casting enquiries include carbon-steel and aluminum-alloy parts for automotive, electric-motor, pump and machinery applications. Other material requests need their own complete grade specification. Sizes and surface treatment follow the controlled drawing for the component being ordered.
Identify the part’s actual application
Show the interfaces joining the casting to adjacent equipment components. Mark mounting, locating and working contacts with the datums governing their relationships. State the operating conditions and material condition relevant to the selected automotive or machinery design.
Define the drawing-controlled result
Put dimensional limits and the required supplied state on the drawing. Distinguish cast surfaces from areas needing a particular finished condition. Specify treatment coverage and appearance requirements, including masking or contact conditions where the surface result affects installation.
Assign full in-house inspection to acceptance
Full in-house inspection is stated. Agree the methods, coverage and records for the selected component’s material, dimensions and final surface. Identify the recorded results needed before approving an initial equipment component. Request applicable ISO9001 and IATF16949 documentation and scope alongside that part-specific inspection brief.
- Supply 2D PDF/CAD or 3D IGES/STEP information.
- Include quantity and the controlling revision.
- Select carton with pallet or wooden-case packing.
- Define protection for the finished interfaces.
Explain what any approval sample must demonstrate and retain its accepted requirements with the material, geometry and supplied-state definition used for the casting production order.
