An aluminum pump-housing enquiry starts with the relationship between the internal passages and the finished sealing and mounting surfaces. A356 sand casting with CNC machining is named for centrifugal and water-pump parts. OEM and ODM work follows the customer’s geometry and required delivered condition.
Locate the housing from its working interfaces
Show the connection to the adjoining casing, cover or drive assembly, including the datums used to measure those interfaces. A sectioned drawing or model can make the passage layout easier to review. Identify the fluid and operating duty so that the material request and acceptance plan concern the actual pump application.
- Provide 2D PDF/CAD drawings or a 3D IGES/STEP model.
- Mark sealing faces, mounting points and controlled bores.
- Identify passage access and any inspection requirements.
- Give quantity and the required delivery condition.
Select the aluminum grade and condition
Additional material-condition enquiries name ZL101, ZL101A, ZL102, ZA356, A356-T6, AlSi7Mg and AlSi1. Specify the complete designation, governing standard and required condition for the housing. These references provide individual selection points rather than an automatic equivalence between different alloy systems.
Connect the finish with the inspection plan
Surface choices include sandblasting, shot blasting, polishing, powder coating and customer-defined treatment. Identify where the selected finish must stop at a machined or sealing surface. Quality control is stated as 100% inspection; define the dimensional, material and surface checks to be recorded. Auto, motorcycle or other industrial component requests should carry their own drawing and duty criteria.
