ToleranceCustomer's Drawing Request
OEM/ODM automotive and machinery components can be requested through sand casting in ASTM A536 80-55-06 or GGG50 ductile iron. Select the complete governing material requirement for the ordered part. Grey-iron work is a separate choice requiring its own grade, drawing and acceptance definition.
Connect the material requirement to the design
Identify the governing standard and the component’s required condition without assuming the named references are automatically equivalent. Explain its working duty and the surrounding assembly. Where multiple items are ordered, keep each material designation attached to its own controlled geometry and quantity.
Define the installation dimensions
Customized sizes and tolerances follow the customer drawing. Show mounting positions, locating faces and mating contacts, including the references used to assess related interfaces. Distinguish dimensions accepted in the cast state from any further processing requested for agreement, and define the final supplied condition.
- Provide the current component drawing and revision.
- Identify the operating conditions relevant to evaluating the selected iron.
- State the material, dimensional and surface records needed for initial approval.
Agree the inspection coverage and records
The component offer includes 100% inspection under an ISO9001 system. Define actual characteristics, methods and report content, requesting applicable system documents and their relevant scope. Keep finished-part approval tied to the design’s own acceptance criteria rather than the material designation alone. Record accepted changes to geometry or supplied condition within the order definition used for later production requests.
