Machine-bed casting enquiries need the complete geometry and finished locating surfaces considered together. This OEM/ODM scope includes custom nodular/ductile-iron and grey-iron sand castings, with drilling, milling, turning and grinding. FCD700 is a named material enquiry to select independently from a grey-iron request.
Establish the bed geometry and machining references
Show the overall casting and the surfaces that locate the machine's associated components. Identify the datums and finished dimensions required after machining. Size is customized, with a 0.01 mm tolerance reference to allocate to the applicable dimensions and inspection method.
- Provide the machine-bed drawing and controlled revision.
- Select the iron family, grade and governing standard.
- Mark drilling, milling, turning and grinding requirements.
- Define finished dimensions and inspection acceptance.
Select material and finish for the ordered bed
GB, ASTM, AISI, DIN and BS are named standard families. Specify the applicable document and selected material grade rather than treating a family name as a complete specification. Baking paint and painting are finishing options; identify the required treatment and any locating surfaces needing particular instructions.
Define the inspection and engineering deliverables
X-ray/radiographic inspection, laser-tracker inspection, mechanical-property inspection and FEA are included in the enquiry scope. State the areas, characteristics and acceptance criteria required for the ordered machine bed. For an analysis request, identify the geometry, loading information and results needed by the project. These deliverables should address the actual component specification alongside its machining and supplied condition.
