Bearing-housing castings should be specified through the bearing and mounting interfaces required by the machine design. This OEM/ODM enquiry includes iron, steel or aluminum components with sand- or investment-casting routes. Size, surface treatment and finished requirements follow customer drawings.

Show the housing's bearing and mounting geometry

Provide the component drawing and identify the dimensions that locate the bearing and connect the housing to the machine. Select the material grade and describe the required delivered condition. The design should establish the functional interfaces rather than an assumed bearing fit from the housing name.

  • Supply 2D PDF/CAD or 3D IGES/STEP data.
  • Select the grade and casting-route requirement.
  • Mark bearing and mounting acceptance dimensions.
  • Identify optional machining and required surface treatment.
  • State quantity and inspection-record requirements.
  • Describe the intended machinery duty.

Define casting and optional machining

The supply scope is casting, machining if needed and customer-required finishing. Identify interfaces requiring finished machining and put their limits on the drawing. Agree the sand- or investment-casting method for the selected metal and geometry.

Specify the finished condition and qualification scope

Describe the requested surface result and any contact areas needing particular instructions. Carton and wooden-box packing are named options. ISO9001, TS16949 and RoHS are qualification references for which the applicable documents and scope should be identified. The material and dimensional acceptance should concern the actual bearing housing or machine component being supplied.
