Flywheels, belt pulleys and wheels should be quoted through the drawing and operating duty of the required component. This custom OEM enquiry includes cast-iron sand and resin-sand castings, with separate aluminum die-cast parts. Customer-requested size and polishing are identified for the aluminum component scope.
Identify the iron rotating component
Provide the flywheel, pulley or wheel drawing and name the required iron grade. Show the bore and connection geometry, together with the dimensions that determine its fit in the assembly. Describe the operating duty and any rotational acceptance requirements established by the design.
Separate the aluminum component request
For an aluminum die-cast part, provide its own alloy and geometry requirements. Specify the customized size and required polished condition for that component. The aluminum material and die-casting route should not be combined with an iron resin-sand request into one configuration.
- Identify the flywheel, pulley, wheel or aluminum part.
- Provide the component drawing and selected metal grade.
- Mark bore, mounting and other critical interfaces.
- State quantity and the required delivered condition.
- Define finish and inspection requirements.
- Identify project-specific operating acceptance.
Agree the route and acceptance basis
Describe the sand or resin-sand requirement for the selected iron design, or the die-cast supply for the aluminum part. State any additional work requested within the quotation. ISO9001:2008 is the stated qualification reference; identify the applicable current supplier documentation and scope. The material, drawing and operating requirements should establish the actual component being purchased.
