A band-saw wheel or belt pulley needs its rim geometry and shaft connection defined together. This custom casting enquiry includes aluminum alloy, iron, steel, zinc/zamac and copper options, with sand casting, optional machining and surface treatment discussed for the specified component. Painting is among the named finishing choices.

Control the rim, groove and shaft relationship

Provide the wheel or pulley drawing with its relevant rim or groove dimensions and shaft-connection geometry. Identify the dimensions that establish the relationship between those interfaces. State any rotational-duty and inspection requirements through the design so the quotation addresses the actual component.

Select the metal and finishing route

Choose the required material grade and identify the interfaces needing CNC work. Painting, powder coating and anodizing are finishing enquiries, with the treatment selected for the metal and use. Additional brass, carbon-steel, stainless-steel and magnesium parts, including die- or gravity-casting requests, should have their own material and route specification.

  • Supply 2D PDF/CAD drawings or 3D IGES/STEP data.
  • Dimension rim or groove geometry and the shaft connection.
  • Identify the grade, quantity and required supply condition.
  • Specify finished interfaces and inspection requirements.

Keep tooling requests separate from wheel supply

Punching and cold-runner moulds, PP/ABS plastic moulds, extrusion/preform work and rubber/silicone injection moulds are additional enquiry areas. Identify whether the order concerns a wheel, another component or tooling. These scopes should be quoted through their own drawings and deliverables.

Define the applicable qualification evidence

ISO9001, TS16949 and RoHS are stated qualification references. Specify the documentation and scope required for the selected component. The wheel's operating and acceptance requirements should accompany that request, with any required rotational or load criteria defined by the project.
