ServiceLost foam casting, machining
Large machinery castings need their cast form and finished interfaces defined for the intended equipment. This enquiry includes grey-iron or ductile-iron machine-tool bases, saddles and bridges, with lost-foam casting and milling or CNC machining. Heat-resistant steel boiler and combustion-chamber requests are separate component enquiries.
Define the machine-tool part and machining plan
Provide the complete drawing with the interfaces that locate the base, saddle or bridge within the machine. Select the iron grade and identify the dimensions required after machining. A 15 mm work-allowance reference is supplied; agree where that allowance applies within the casting and machining plan.
- Identify the base, saddle, bridge or separate boiler component.
- Provide the controlled geometry and selected grade.
- Mark machining interfaces and finished dimensional limits.
- Specify required treatment and delivered condition.
Keep work allowance separate from final tolerance
The 15 mm reference describes work or machining allowance, rather than a finished dimensional tolerance. Show the cast geometry and the final interfaces accepted after milling or CNC work. Custom shapes and surface treatment should be included with the component-specific supply request.
Select the casting route for the actual material
Lost-foam casting and machining are named services, with sand casting also within the enquiry scope. Agree the route for the selected iron component and its geometry. The quotation should identify the actual work included for that part.
Specify steel boiler projects independently
For a boiler or combustion-chamber request, provide the required alloy, thermal duty and component design. Define its inspection and service acceptance separately from the grey/ductile-iron machine-part data. Those requirements should establish the steel component without an assumed temperature or pressure rating.
