A cast-iron valve nut needs more than a general valve description: the connection geometry, finished faces and governing material requirement determine the component you can approve. This OEM enquiry combines ASTM A126 valve-part requests with green-sand or shell molding and CNC machining. Define the actual nut or related valve component first, then connect the casting proposal to its intended industrial assembly.
Put the Valve Drawing Ahead of the Grade Label
State the complete ASTM A126 grade or the other specified iron requirement on the component drawing. The dimensional capability reference spans 10–2500 mm, but the relevant dimension and its applicability must be identified for the selected part. Mark mating geometry and any thread-related requirements rather than treating a broad casting dimension as a finished connection size.
- Green-sand molding is one named route for the iron-component proposal.
- Shell molding provides a separately specified casting-process option.
- CNC machining can be allocated to the actual finished valve interfaces.
- Electrostatic powder coating can be defined by its required coverage.
- Blasting requests can be assigned to the appropriate casting surfaces.
Separate Material Documents from System Scope
Standard-family references include ISO, DIN, ASTM, AISI, ASME, AWWA, JWWA, EN, BS, JIS, NF, CAS and GB. Name the document, edition and applicable requirements needed for your valve part instead of assuming those references are interchangeable. DNV, PED and ISO9001:2008 documentation should be requested with its actual object or supplier scope.
Approve the Working Connection
For industrial, machinery or automotive use, set the component's own dimensional, material and surface criteria. Any valve pressure or sealing requirement needs a separately agreed acceptance basis for the ordered design. Supplying the drawing revision, quantity and finished-interface requirements gives the valve-nut proposal a clear boundary from casting blank through final approval.
