ToleranceCustomer's Drawing Request
Specify the seawater-strainer body around its connections, exposure and required corrosion protection. This OEM/ODM enquiry covers corrosion-resistant ductile-iron bodies to an agreed ASTM A536 grade, using sand casting and customer-defined dimensions. Separately specified gray-iron automotive or machinery parts can be discussed through their own material and component requirements.
Choose the Ductile Grade for the Strainer Body
Provide the complete ASTM A536 grade and the actual strainer drawing, including the interfaces that determine its place in the system. Keep the selected material condition attached to the body rather than treating a standard-family name as a complete part specification. Any separate gray-iron component needs its own governing grade and acceptance.
Define the Seawater Exposure and Working Interfaces
Describe the seawater conditions and the required protection for the selected strainer design. Identify the connection geometry and any pressure or sealing acceptance relevant to that body. These requirements make the corrosion-resistance purpose specific to the installation without substituting an unagreed rating for the actual engineering drawing.
Customer dimensions and tolerances should identify the surfaces and interfaces that govern assembly and final approval. Include the required supplied condition and the material, dimensional and surface criteria for those areas. A consistent body drawing lets the exposure, protection and interface requirements be reviewed together.
Approve the Ordered Strainer Component
Inspection is 100% under an ISO9001 system, with the relevant methods, records and applicable document scope agreed for the selected supply. State quantity and drawing revision with the final acceptance requirements. The seawater-strainer enquiry should finish with a clearly identified ductile-iron body and its agreed conditions of use, while unrelated automotive or machinery components remain separate deliverables.
