OEM/ODM enquiries include cast-iron flywheel sand castings and separately selected aluminum die-cast components. In-house mold making and deburring can be defined for the actual drawing, with customer-required dimensions and a clear material and manufacturing brief.
Locate the flywheel within the rotating assembly
Provide the rim, hub and mounting-interface geometry with the complete material grade. Identify the dimensions controlling installation and any balance or operating acceptance required by the design. The component drawing should establish the precision requirements needed for the selected flywheel.
Define the tool and subsequent work
Describe the mold requirements and the areas needing attention after casting. Mark any interfaces requiring additional machine work and specify their finished condition. A separate component request should retain its own material and process scope so the quotation addresses the actual item being ordered.
- Submit the flywheel or separate component drawing.
- Select the full grade and actual manufacturing route.
- Mark rim, hub and other functional-interface dimensions.
- Define deburring, subsequent work and supplied condition.
- State quantity and the required acceptance checks.
Choose the surface and environmental requirements
Painting, powder coating and oxidation are named treatment enquiries for the selected metal. Identify coverage and any contact surfaces requiring protection. Professional inspection is stated; define the checks and records needed for approval. For an eco-friendly requirement, provide the environmental criteria and documents relevant to the actual finish and material so purchasing can assess them with the component brief.
