ToleranceCustomer's Drawing Request
Custom grey-iron sand-casting enquiries include GJL200, GJL250, GG20 and GG25, with a separately specified ductile-iron requirement also available. These grade requests should carry their complete designation and governing standard. OEM and ODM work is directed to the actual industrial-machinery component drawing.
Identify the iron family before comparing proposals
Material selection should reflect the design requirement for the part, including the condition in which it will be accepted. Keep the requested iron family clear on the drawing and supporting documents. This prevents a broad description such as custom iron casting from obscuring the material requirement used for approval.
- State the selected grade and applicable material standard.
- Provide the controlled drawing and required quantity.
- Mark mounting and mating geometry.
- Identify the required supplied condition.
- Define material, dimensional and surface acceptance records.
Link the drawing tolerance to the assembly
Dimensions are customized and tolerances follow the customer’s drawing. Show the datum scheme and identify the dimensions that position the component relative to its mating parts. Where different areas need different delivered conditions, mark those boundaries so that the manufacturing and inspection brief remains unambiguous.
Set the inspection plan and qualification scope
Quality control is stated as 100% inspection under an ISO9001-system reference. Agree the checks required for the selected component and the records that demonstrate acceptance of the ordered condition. Identify the applicable supplier qualification document and scope, then connect any sample approval to the same drawing revision and material requirement used for production.
