Custom iron machine-tool body and large lathe-bed enquiries include resin-sand, green-sand or shell-molding selection. The actual bed or body drawing should define the iron grade, geometry and supplied condition, with ISO8062 CT7–CT9 as the stated casting-tolerance reference.
Locate the bed and guide-interface requirements
Provide the mounting, guide and adjoining-component geometry that determines how the casting is used. Identify the dimensions and datums required for acceptance. A 10–2500 mm size reference should be connected to the actual component dimension being requested, rather than replacing the complete bed drawing.
Choose the molding and surface scope
Select the required process for the chosen iron and shape. Hot galvanizing, electrostatic powder coating and shot blasting are named surface options. Specify the treatment coverage and any interfaces needing a different delivered condition.
- Submit the machine-body or lathe-bed drawing and grade.
- Select the molding route and required supply stage.
- Mark the controlled casting dimensions and inspection datums.
- Define surface treatment, quantity and component checks.
- Identify the exact material and qualification documents required.
Specify the documents applicable to the order
Standard families include ISO, DIN, ASTM, AISI, ASME, AWWA, JWWA, EN, BS, JIS, NF and GB. Identify the actual documents relevant to this design and request applicable DNV, PED or ISO9001:2008 documentation within its real scope. The drawing and acceptance brief should establish the requirements for the selected machine-tool casting.
