A machine base plate needs its mounting geometry defined as a coordinated component. This custom sand-cast aluminum enquiry includes integrated mounting bosses for industrial equipment and automation OEM projects, with CNC machining and OEM/ODM work to customer requirements. The drawing should show how the plate locates the equipment it supports.
Dimension the bosses from the mounting references
Locate boss positions and mounting interfaces from clear drawing datums. Identify the surfaces and dimensions that determine assembly, including any required alignment between the plate and the mounted equipment. This allows the cast geometry and the CNC-finished interfaces to be considered within one component specification.
Select the complete alloy and delivery designation
Named material enquiries include ZL101, ZL101A, ZL102, ZA356, A356-T6, AlSi7Mg and AlSi1. Specify the full designation and applicable material standard for the requested plate. Keep the required delivery condition attached to the selected grade; the T6 notation belongs to the A356-T6 enquiry rather than every material in the list.
