Large one-off sand-casting enquiries cover machine bases, frames and architectural elements. Material choices are gray iron, ductile iron, carbon steel, cast steel or aluminum alloy. Define the selected grade, actual large-blank geometry and intended supplied condition for an OEM/ODM quotation.
Plan the pattern around the one-off design
Wood and aluminum patterns are listed, with customization from drawings or samples. Identify the pattern deliverable and the geometry it must define for the chosen part. Where a sample is provided, distinguish intended shape from wear or damage and specify which drawing information governs.
Separate cast dimensions from later work
The casting-tolerance reference is CT7–CT10. Mark the dimensions concerned and agree their acceptance basis separately from any machining required on fitted or locating areas. Confirm the actual large-part supply limits and manufacturing scope using the design being quoted.
Select protection and appearance by surface
Shot blasting, anti-rust primer, sandblasting and passivation are named treatments for suitable materials. Specify coverage and masking around functional interfaces, together with the visual condition needed for exposed architectural or machinery faces.
Agree the one-off approval package
The stated 100% inspection should be organized around agreed characteristics of the selected large component. Define the checks, limits and records required for material, geometry and surface approval. Bubble protection, carton and wooden-case packing are listed; identify protection needed for finished areas. Include quantity and the controlled revision with the pattern and production quotation requirements.
