A custom QT400 iron support can be requested from a one-piece minimum order. Sand casting is combined with machining where needed and the selected surface treatment. Painted surfaces and customer-specified color can be included in the support’s required delivered condition.
Begin with the support’s installation drawing
Identify the full QT-400 designation and governing material document. Show the mounting geometry, contacting areas and datum relationships that locate the support in its assembly. Describe the duty and operating conditions relevant to the part so material and dimensional acceptance have a defined purpose.
Plan which surfaces are finished before delivery
Mark areas supplied as cast and interfaces requiring subsequent work. Identify the measurement condition for controlled dimensions. Set paint or other requested treatment coverage around the working surfaces, including masking and contact requirements where the finish affects installation.
- Drawing information can be 2D or 3D.
- Accepted formats include CAD, DWG, STEP, PDF and IGS.
- Specify material, dimensional and surface approval records.
- Define protection for finished interfaces within wooden packing.
Use inspection to approve the ordered support
The stated 100% inspection should assess the support characteristics agreed for the selected drawing and supplied state. Identify the required checks and reporting before approving the part. For a sample or initial-piece order, explain which installation or appearance requirements it must demonstrate and retain that decision in the production brief.
