Product description

Custom saddles and water-divider components can be requested through OEM gray- or ductile-iron sand casting. Define the actual item and complete iron grade before establishing its supplied condition. The component drawing should show the cast geometry and working relationships required by the selected application.

Identify the saddle or water-divider duty

Describe the part’s function and the way it connects to adjoining components. State the operating environment and material requirements relevant to that design. Any water-service requirements should address the actual component and conditions in which it will work.

Define installation and functional fit

Show mounting, locating and mating interfaces with the drawing references used for assessment. Put permitted dimensional limits on the relationships governing installation or operation. Distinguish areas accepted in their cast state from surfaces needing another supplied result.

  • State the saddle or water-divider quantity and controlling drawing revision.
  • Identify the complete gray- or ductile-iron governing specification.
  • Define appearance and contact requirements at relevant surfaces.
  • Specify material, dimensional and surface records for approval.

Set the component acceptance basis

Explain what an initial casting must demonstrate against the selected mating arrangement. Agree measurement conditions and checks needed to establish its geometry and final condition. Retain approved grade and interface decisions within the component definition so repeat requests address the same saddle or water-divider design and actual working duty and installation requirements.
