Custom brass components or other separately specified metal parts can be requested through investment or sand casting. OEM/ODM tolerance requirements follow the customer drawing. Choose the complete grade, applicable route and supplied condition for the actual part and its working purpose.

Establish material and governing requirements

Standard families include GB, ASTM, AISI, DIN and BS. Identify the complete document, edition and grade requirements relevant to the selected component. Keep those requirements connected to the actual material condition and the evidence needed for approval.

Scope machining around final fit

Identify interfaces requiring further work after casting and distinguish them from regions accepted in the cast state. Show mounting and mating relationships with adjoining equipment. Mark locating references, dimensional limits and measurement conditions for the component’s functional interfaces.

Choose surface work by substrate

Blasting, polishing, powder coating, zinc plating and chrome plating are named finishes. Select a compatible process and define its coverage, appearance and final contact result. Identify masked areas where treatment affects dimensional assessment or installation.

  • State the brass or separate metal item’s quantity and controlling revision.
  • Identify material, dimensional and surface acceptance records.
  • Request applicable ISO9001:2008 and TS16949 documents and activity scope.
  • Explain what an initial casting must demonstrate at its mating interfaces.

Retain approved grade, machining and finish decisions with the component definition used for subsequent OEM/ODM supply to the same working assembly.
