Gray- or ductile-iron pump sand castings can be requested with CNC-lathe and milling-center work for industrial-machinery, automotive or electrical components. OEM/ODM scope includes mold work and selected heat treatment. Specify the complete grade and drawing for the actual component and required supplied state.
Keep casting and machining acceptance distinct
The casting reference is CT4–CT9. Machining references are ±0.005 mm and ISO2768-mk; assign the applicable document, dimensions and measurement stage to the selected finished interfaces. Mark mounting, connection and working geometry with the datums controlling assembly fit.
Choose the material condition and final surface
Annealing, quench-and-temper and ADI-related treatment requests must match the selected grade and condition. Finish choices are zinc plating, painting and powder coating. Define coverage, masking and the supplied result needed at the component’s working or visible surfaces.
- Planning references include PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, Control Plan and MSA.
- Identify the actual deliverables required for the order, including planning records supporting the approved manufacturing and inspection configuration.
- Provide quantity and the controlling drawing revision.
- Define material, dimensional and surface acceptance records.
Connect planning documents to component approval
State the operating duty and any application-specific approval requirements. Explain what an initial part must demonstrate and which records accompany that decision. Retain accepted grade, treatment and interface changes with the component definition so production acceptance follows the actual pump casting and CNC-machined result.
