Gray- or ductile-iron casting enquiries include sand, resin-sand and coated-sand requirements with CNC-lathe or milling-center work. OEM/ODM scope also includes mold work. Define the complete grade and material condition for the industrial, automotive or electrical component being ordered.
Assign cast and CNC limits to their own dimensions
The casting reference is CT9–CT11. Machining references are ±0.005 mm and ISO2768-mk; identify the governing document, applicable dimensions and supplied stages. Mark datums and measurement conditions for the interfaces determining assembly fit, with cast-state geometry kept explicit on the drawing.
Select treatment around the iron family
Annealing, quench-and-temper or ADI-related treatment must match the selected grade and required condition. Zinc plating, painting and powder coating are named finishes. Specify coverage, appearance and masking where surface work affects functional contacts or final dimensional acceptance.
- Planning services include PFMEA, PPAP, APQP, Control Plan and MSA.
- Define the actual documents and deliverables required by the order, including planning evidence supporting the selected inspection configuration.
- Provide quantity and the controlling drawing revision.
- Identify material, dimensional and surface approval records.
Set the initial-component and qualification brief
Explain the part’s operating duty and what an initial item must demonstrate. Request applicable ISO9001 documentation and scope alongside the selected planning and inspection records. Retain approved material, treatment and interface changes with the component definition so production acceptance follows the actual iron casting and CNC-machined result.
