Product description

Aluminum casting projects should identify whether the order concerns a component, a core or a defined manufacturing service. This enquiry names custom casting and CNC machining, investment-foundry work and coated-sand-core requirements. The drawing and selected alloy should establish the actual deliverable.

Describe the aluminum part and any core requirement

Provide the complete component geometry, including internal areas relevant to the requested casting. Identify whether a core is part of the enquiry and the item that must be supplied. The component and any separately supplied core should have their own controlled geometry and acceptance requirements.

  • Identify the aluminum component, core or service scope.
  • Select the alloy and applicable material specification.
  • Provide the drawing revision and required quantity.
  • Mark internal geometry and finished interfaces.
  • Define CNC requirements and acceptance dimensions.
  • State the required supplied condition and documents.

Allocate casting and CNC work to the design

Specify the actual route and operations required for the selected material. Identify dimensions accepted in the casting scope and interfaces needing CNC work. A coated-sand-core enquiry should define the geometry and process requirements rather than assume a particular binder or recipe.

Define qualification and inspection acceptance

CE and ISO9001 are named qualification references. Identify the applicable documents, responsible entity and scope relevant to the ordered item. State the dimensional and material checks needed for acceptance. The alloy, drawing, core requirement and finished condition should identify one actual project without an unstated precision or approval.
