Drawing-based brass-alloy sand castings can be specified with customer-selected material, dimensions, color and surface treatment. Begin with the complete brass designation and the actual part drawing. The required supplied condition should connect the alloy choice with the component’s intended use and appearance.
Define the component through its fitted geometry
Mark the datums and dimensions that establish how the brass part mates with neighboring components. Identify the surfaces accepted in their cast state and any final interfaces needed for assembly. Tolerances follow the drawing request, with their measurement stage made clear for the delivered part.
- State the complete grade and required condition.
- Provide quantity and the drawing revision.
- Mark functional contact and locating areas.
- Identify the requested color or appearance reference.
- Define final surface coverage and masking.
- Specify the records required for part approval.
Give inspection a drawing-based scope
The brass component’s stated 100% inspection should concern an agreed set of material, dimensional and surface characteristics. Assign acceptance limits and the records used to assess those characteristics. An appearance sample can be paired with the drawing to show the selected finish on identified faces.
Connect qualification to the order
Request the relevant ISO9001 certificate and applicable supplier scope. Include the component’s governing drawing requirements in the quotation brief alongside that qualification request. Use the same grade, revision and surface reference for sample approval and production acceptance so the custom brass part has one consistent supplied-state definition.
