OEM/ODM cast-iron components are offered with sand- and shell-molding enquiries and machining support. The size reference is 1–440 mm, with the actual dimensions and supplied condition defined for the selected part drawing.

Identify the controlled dimensions and surfaces

The machining-precision reference is 0.01 mm and the roughness reference is Ra 1.6. Specify the tolerance convention, roughness unit and interfaces governed by those requirements. Relating them to the drawing and delivered stage provides a usable acceptance basis for the machined component.

  • Provide the iron grade and controlled drawing revision.
  • Mark the geometry covered by the size requirement.
  • Identify cast and machined acceptance dimensions.
  • Define the required surface result and checking methods.
  • State quantity and the required inspection records.

Choose material and surface processing

Polishing, plating, galvanizing, chrome finishing and heat-treatment enquiries are named options. Select the actual processes needed by the material and component design, including their coverage or required condition. Any other treatment request should define the intended process clearly before it is added to the order scope.

Specify the documents needed for supplier approval

TUV, ISO, SGS and OHSAS are named qualification or assessment references. Request the actual documents, identity and applicable supplier scope required by purchasing. Keep those records with the approved grade, drawing and inspection brief so the quoted casting and machining work can be evaluated for the component actually being ordered.
