Cast-iron sand-casting enquiries for machine-tool applications follow the customer’s 2D drawing and can include powder coating. Select the complete iron grade and required supplied condition for the actual component. Its installation and working role should establish the geometry and acceptance requirements.
Describe the machine-tool interfaces
Show the mounting and mating relationships with adjoining machine elements. Identify the locating references and the dimensions governing alignment or fit. State the functional limits needed at those interfaces and the conditions used to assess them.
- Distinguish cast-state areas from surfaces needing a specified final result.
- Mark any contacts where coating affects the installed relationship.
- Identify material and dimensional records required for approval.
Set powder-coated coverage
Define the treated areas, appearance and required contact condition on the selected iron component. Identify masking or protection needed at working interfaces. Agree how the final coated part will be evaluated against the drawing and the actual machine installation. Show the coated boundaries against the machine’s working contacts when defining approval.
Clarify the applicable quality records
Document references include ISO/TS16949:2002, ISO9001 and IATF16949. Request the applicable versions, holder and activity scope relevant to the order. Give quantity and the current drawing revision, and explain any initial-part assessment needed. Keep accepted grade, geometry and coating decisions within the component record so subsequent supply follows the same machine-tool fit and surface requirements.
