Heavy-machinery casting enquiries should define the material, cast geometry and finished interfaces required by the equipment. This service includes ductile-iron or grey-iron sand-cast parts made from drawings or samples. CNC machining, drilling, milling, boring and tapping are named secondary operations.
Identify the machinery component and grade
Provide the complete part drawing or explain the requirements represented by the sample. Select the iron family and full grade needed for the design. Describe the operating duty and any load acceptance established by the project rather than relying on the heavy-duty label alone.
- Supply the controlled drawing or sample reference.
- Select the ductile-iron or grey-iron grade.
- Mark casting dimensions and machined interfaces.
- State quantity and the required surface condition.
Apply CT9–11 to the grey-iron casting scope
The casting-tolerance reference is CT9–11 for grey-iron parts. Identify the dimensions governed by that requirement and distinguish them from CNC-finished acceptance. Each required machining operation should be tied to the finished dimensions and datums on the component drawing.
Specify shot blasting or oiling
Shot blasting, oiling and customer-required surface treatments are available. Describe the selected result and any interfaces needing particular finishing instructions. The surface condition should be included with the required delivered component.
Define the supply and acceptance requirements
Multilayer wooden-case packing with a large internal plastic bag is stated. Identify the actual inspection characteristics and records required for the part. The grade, machining and surface specification should establish measurable precision and duty requirements for the ordered machinery component.
