OEM and ODM ductile-iron sand-casting enquiries include CNC turning and milling, with size customized to the drawing. Define the full grade, required condition and the component’s actual performance or service-duty acceptance. The supplied-state brief should make clear which dimensions and surfaces are ready for assembly.

Locate the machined geometry from the assembly

Show the mounting and mating interfaces and identify the datums controlling their relationship. Mark surfaces that remain as cast separately from areas requiring finished dimensions. Accepted information includes 2D PDF/CAD drawings and 3D IGES/STEP data.

Identify the key-size checks

The QC arrangement combines random checks during production with 100% checks of key sizes. Identify those dimensions, measurement locations and acceptance records for the ordered part. This inspection brief should use the same drawing revision and supplied condition as the component approval.

  • Provide the drawing revision and required quantity.
  • State the complete material and condition.
  • Mark controlled interfaces and finished dimensions.
  • Define surface and material approval records.

Choose finishing and delivery protection

Shot blasting, painting and powder coating are named treatment choices. Specify the selected process and any masking around contact or locating surfaces. Packing combines a bubble bag, carton and wooden crate; identify protection and separation needed at the finished geometry. Any sample approval should also include the duty and appearance criteria relevant to the actual component, with those references carried into production.
