OEM/ODM enquiries can cover a vacuum-sand casting mold or separately defined large housings, pump parts and valve components. Material choices include grey iron, ductile iron, carbon steel, cast steel and aluminum alloy. Identify the actual deliverable and complete grade for each controlled drawing.
Distinguish tooling from the cast component
A mold request needs its own geometry, interfaces and supplied condition. For a large casting, define the blank and any required CNC-finished areas independently. CT7–CT10 is the casting-tolerance reference; agree its convention and applicable dimensions rather than assigning it to final machining acceptance.
Specify the examination and test conditions
Quality-control services include full-dimensional testing, hydrostatic or air-tightness testing and UT NDT. Select methods for the actual material and geometry, identifying examination areas and acceptance limits. State test conditions and the records needed to approve the ordered mold or component without treating a test service as an unstated pressure rating.
- Surface choices include shot blasting, anti-rust primer, sandblasting and passivation for compatible substrates.
- Mark treated areas and their functional or appearance requirements.
- Packing combines bubble protection, a carton and a wooden case.
Define the approved work package
Size and supplied-surface requirements can be customized to the selected design. Provide quantity, mounting and mating geometry and the final material, dimensional and surface evidence needed for acceptance. Keep initial approval and any later geometry changes connected to the same deliverable, processing scope and inspection plan when arranging additional work.
