Coated-sand casting enquiries include CNC machining, quench-and-temper treatment, shot blasting and assembly. Define the alloy, complete grade and drawing for the actual component. The material condition and finished interfaces should establish the required supplied result for the selected order.

Plan treatment and machining around the geometry

Resource references include two mesh-belt furnaces, more than 50 machining centers and more than 80 CNC machines. Agree the resources allocated to the actual work. Mark datums and dimensional limits, identifying the stages at which material and finished-interface acceptance are established.

Define inspection coverage by method

For the selected casting, the stated 100% visual and 100% gauge checks should address agreed appearance and gauged characteristics. MT, UT, RT and CMM need their own examination areas, methods and acceptance records. Connect those requirements to the actual component and supplied stage.

Set shot-blast and assembly requirements

Identify the areas receiving the selected surface work and the required result. Define assembly interfaces and the included components within the supplied package. Specify working contacts, measurement conditions and appearance criteria needed for approval.

  • Governing families include ASTM, AISI, DIN, BS, JIS, NF and AS.
  • Identify complete documents and required grade conditions.
  • Request applicable IATF16949 and ISO14001 documentation and scope.
  • Provide quantity and the controlling drawing revision.

Retain approved material, process and assembly changes with the component definition so production acceptance follows the actual coated-sand casting and CNC supply.
