A custom industrial casting enquiry begins with the finished component that the buyer needs to receive. This service covers OEM/ODM parts with customized size and shape, including steel, stainless steel and brass enquiries, lost-wax investment casting, separate sand-casting requests and CNC machining.
Describe the component in its assembled position
Show how the casting connects to the surrounding equipment. A drawing with mating faces, hole locations and assembly datums makes it easier to distinguish the overall cast shape from the dimensions that control installation. Where the design is still being developed, identify which dimensions are fixed and which may be discussed during quotation.
- Component drawing and revision, with the intended industrial use.
- Selected material grade and any required material standard.
- Requested quantity and whether the enquiry concerns a new or existing design.
- Surfaces to be machined and the dimensions to be measured after machining.
- Required final surface condition and any treatment requirements.
- Inspection methods and records needed for acceptance.
Select a casting route before defining the finish
Lost-wax investment casting and sand casting are route enquiries to evaluate against the actual material and geometry. Specify the desired delivered condition separately: an as-cast surface, a machined interface and a specified surface treatment describe different aspects of the component. CNC machining requirements should be tied to the drawing rather than applied as a blanket instruction to every surface.
Make inspection requirements part of the quotation
Professional inspection is a stated service. Use the purchase specification to define dimensional coverage, sampling and the records that matter to the application. If an international standard or certification is required, name the document and its applicable scope so the quotation can address that requirement precisely.
