Custom sand casting starts with a component definition, not a standard stock size. This foundry service accepts iron and steel casting enquiries with customized dimensions and a negotiable minimum order. Resin-sand casting is included in the process discussion, with the required sand system selected around the part and its intended production requirement.

Define the blank before applying a CT grade

The casting tolerance reference is CT5-7, which needs to be connected to the size and features of the requested blank. Mark the dimensions controlled at the casting stage and identify any separate finished-part requirements on the drawing. For an iron or steel component, this keeps the cast geometry distinct from requirements that may belong to a later operation.

Make resin sand part of the component enquiry

A resin-sand request should explain the component shape, required material and intended order quantity. The casting route can then be discussed against a defined part rather than selected from a process name alone. For a custom sand-cast component, include the geometry and internal features relevant to the proposed mold so the manufacturing enquiry describes the actual work.

  • Specify cast iron or cast steel and the required grade.
  • Provide the custom component dimensions on a controlled drawing.
  • Identify the relevant casting-stage acceptance dimensions.
  • State whether the project calls for a resin-sand process enquiry.
  • Discuss the required quantity when agreeing the minimum order.

Keep the standard attached to the material

GB, ASTM, AISI, DIN and BS are the standard families available for the casting discussion. Choose the particular specification and edition relevant to the iron or steel order, rather than treating the family names as interchangeable grades. An agreed material requirement, drawing revision and casting acceptance basis give this custom foundry enquiry a consistent technical reference.
