Custom ductile-iron components are offered through an OEM sand-casting and precision-machining enquiry. The one-stop manufacturing request should define the actual grade, drawing and supplied condition, with customer-selected color and pallet packing.
Connect the casting to its finished interfaces
Show the geometry and the dimensions that determine how the part fits its assembly. Mark interfaces requiring machining and distinguish them from surfaces accepted in the casting condition. The precision requirement should be expressed through the drawing limits and datums needed for that component.
- Provide the controlled part drawing and full iron grade.
- Identify casting and machining requirements by interface.
- Specify dimensional limits and the measurement basis.
- Define color, supplied condition and component checks.
- State quantity and pallet-packing requirements.
Define the testing scope for acceptance
The stated inspection scope is 100% testing. Specify the methods, coverage and acceptance limits appropriate to the material and finished geometry, together with the records needed for approval. Keeping those requirements with the drawing gives the inspection request a practical relationship to the actual part.
Complete order and qualification requirements
The minimum-order reference is 100; agree its counting unit and scope for the selected component. Request applicable ISO9001, ABS and EN124 documents within their actual supplier, component or test scope. The material, drawing and inspection brief can then provide a consistent reference for quoting and accepting the ordered manufacturing work.
