Custom iron sand castings combine drawing-defined component sizes with a color powder-coated finish. Ductile-iron components and separate grey-iron requests can be specified for OEM/ODM work. Choose the complete grade for the actual part before defining the appearance and assembly requirements.
Choose the iron for the component
Explain the part’s function, loading and contact with neighboring components. Those requirements help establish the material condition and acceptance needed for the selected iron family. Mark the dimensions that control fit, together with the datums from which they should be checked.
Describe the color and coverage together
Provide a color reference and distinguish visible faces from mating or locating areas. Specify any masking and the delivered condition of interfaces where coating coverage affects assembly. An agreed appearance reference can connect the intended color, coverage and acceptable visual condition for sample approval.
Set precision through the drawing
Use individual dimensions and acceptance limits to explain the precision required by the component. Identify the measurement stage where a coated surface forms part of the fit. Pair dimensional approval with the material and finish records needed for the order, so the inspected condition corresponds to the part being installed.
Prepare a consistent supply brief
Include quantity, controlled revision and protection needed for finished edges or faces in carton and wooden-box packing. Identify the applicable ISO9001, TS16949 and RoHS documents and their scope. Carry the approved grade, drawing and surface reference into subsequent production acceptance so the supplied component retains the intended assembly and appearance requirements.
