Custom gray-iron green-sand casting and moulding services are available for prototype and production requests. Shot blasting and quality inspection are included in the enquiry scope. Identify the part drawing, selected iron grade and required supplied condition for the component being developed or ordered.
Decide what the prototype must establish
Explain whether the initial component will be used to assess geometry, assembly relationships or another design requirement. Show the mating parts and the interfaces controlling fit. Put the acceptance criteria on the controlled drawing so the prototype result can inform a defined production decision.
Describe the cast form and shot-blasted result
Identify the component’s overall geometry and the areas requiring particular surface conditions. Specify shot-blast coverage and the visual result needed for approval. Where further work is required by the design, define that work and its supplied-state boundary in the casting enquiry.
- State the complete gray-iron material requirement.
- Mark datums and controlled dimensions.
- Identify relevant working and contacting areas.
- Define the inspection checks and records for acceptance.
Carry the approved design into production
Include the requested quantity and identify which revision governs the order. Record any changes arising from the prototype assessment and the characteristics needing renewed approval. Keep the accepted material, geometry and surface definition linked to production inspection so the green-sand casting supply addresses the intended component function and assembly interfaces.
