Industrial wheel castings should be specified around their working geometry and connection to the assembly. This OEM/ODM enquiry names iron, steel and aluminum wheels, with additional grey-iron and brass casting requests. Design, dimensions and style follow customer drawings, with machining included where needed.
Show the wheel's working and mounting geometry
Provide the rim or other working surface and the connection details required by the design. Identify the dimensions that control fit and function in the industrial or agricultural application. The complete drawing should distinguish the cast form from any interfaces requiring finished machining.
Select the complete material designation
Choose the iron, steel, aluminum or brass grade required for the requested component. A Cr material label is also supplied; identify the full grade and governing standard if that is part of the enquiry. Material labels should define a selected alloy rather than a combined composition for every wheel.
- Provide the wheel or component drawing and quantity.
- Select the material grade and applicable specification.
- Mark working geometry and mating interfaces.
- Identify optional machining and finished limits.
- Specify painting, sandblasting or oiling requirements.
- Define operating duty and acceptance records.
Coordinate finishing and the supplied condition
Painting, sandblasting and oiling are named surface options. Select the treatment required by the component and identify contact areas needing particular instructions. ISO9001:2008 is the qualification reference for which the applicable current documentation should be requested. The selected material, drawing and operating acceptance should establish the actual industrial wheel or component being supplied.
