A mould enquiry should identify the tooling to be supplied and the part it is intended to make. This OEM/ODM scope includes stamping and low-pressure mould requests, together with lost-wax, investment, sand and gravity-casting enquiries. Customer drawings and specifications define the required item and its dimensions.
Distinguish tooling from the finished component
State whether the request concerns a mould or a mechanical, machinery-spare or pump part. For tooling, identify the intended manufacturing operation and the relevant part geometry. For a finished component, provide its material and delivered-condition requirements separately from any associated tool.
- Identify the mould or finished part being purchased.
- Provide the drawing revision and customer specification.
- Select the required material and actual manufacturing route.
- State quantity, finished interfaces and acceptance requirements.
Specify steel and 6061 aluminum requests precisely
Steel and 6061 aluminum-alloy capabilities are named material enquiries. Identify which material belongs to the tool or component in your request, with its applicable grade and condition. A material list alone does not define the mould steel or the process for every finished part.
Agree the manufacturing route for the actual deliverable
Sand, lost-wax/investment and gravity casting are process enquiries to assess against the selected design. Stamping and low-pressure mould requirements should likewise be described through their tooling function. Ask the quotation to identify the agreed route and work included rather than combine all process terms into one production sequence.
Carry the client specification into acceptance
Size and standards follow the customer requirements. Define the measurements and records needed to accept the ordered item, with carton, wooden-box or other packing selected for the supply request. A clear tooling or component boundary allows design, material and purchasing requirements to remain aligned.
