Product description

OEM custom aluminum alloy parts can be requested through die casting, gravity casting or sand casting. Choose the alloy and route together for the component being developed. A useful foundry enquiry connects the part geometry to its intended function and required supplied condition.

Explain the component and its interfaces

Describe where the part sits within the assembly and what it must connect, locate or support. Identify the mating components and the installation conditions that affect its design. For a replacement request, distinguish the intended dimensions from wear or damage on an existing sample. Keep the request tied to one controlled component specification.

Select requirements for the casting route

Provide the complete aluminum alloy designation and the drawing revision. State the dimensional relationships that govern assembly, including their permitted limits and datums. Identify any surfaces requiring further work. Include machining, coating or heat-treatment requirements for agreement during quotation rather than leaving the final condition implicit.

Make acceptance part of the enquiry

  • State the quantity and the component's intended working environment.
  • Mark critical interfaces and areas with particular surface requirements.
  • Define inspection coverage, approval stages and the records needed for acceptance.

Identify any qualification documents required for the actual application. Where the design changes, explain how those changes affect the selected material, geometry and supplied condition. Keep approved revisions traceable so later quotations refer to the same aluminum component. This gives the foundry a defined basis for discussing the appropriate die, gravity or sand casting scope.
