Product description

OEM aluminum or iron sand-cast components can be requested with custom machining. Brass, magnesium-alloy and zinc-alloy casting enquiries are separately specified material choices. Identify the actual part, complete grade and suitable manufacturing route for the drawing being submitted.

Describe the component before selecting a process

Explain its function within the equipment and the environment in which it will work. Show the connections to adjoining parts and the interfaces governing installation. Those details provide the basis for agreeing the material condition and required supplied state.

Distinguish the cast form from finished geometry

Mark the dimensions and faces that require machining, along with regions accepted in their cast condition. Identify locating datums and the relationships used to establish fit. Put permitted limits and measurement conditions next to the applicable drawing geometry.

Define surfaces around their working role

Identify visible areas, contacting faces and any surface requirements relevant to use. Specify the desired result and the compatible processing being requested. Keep the selected treatment and dimensional requirements connected where surface work can affect an assembly interface.

Agree the evidence for component approval

State the supplied condition against which the OEM component will be assessed. Keep the evidence brief specific to the chosen part and its mating equipment.

  • Provide the order quantity and current drawing revision with material and dimensional records needed for acceptance.
  • Explain the purpose of any initial assessment and what the component must demonstrate.
  • Preserve accepted decisions on grade, geometry and final condition within the part definition when requesting further OEM castings or machined components.
