Pair the drawing with the selected metal
Identify one material grade and the casting route requested for the component. A pump body, agricultural fitting and automotive bracket can have very different requirements even when they share a material family. Showing the intended use and the interfaces that matter gives the drawing a useful manufacturing context.
Define what CNC machining must finish
Investment casting and CNC machining are named services, and size follows the customer's drawing. Mark the faces, bores and other interfaces that require a machined condition, together with their datums and acceptance criteria. This lets the quotation distinguish the casting work from the operations needed to deliver the finished part.
- Submit a STEP, STL or IGS file and its drawing revision.
- State the complete metal grade and requested casting process.
- Highlight functional interfaces and their drawing tolerances.
- Specify quantity and the required delivered surface condition.
Use CAD support to close the manufacturing scope
CAD support can form part of the custom enquiry, particularly when the component geometry needs to be clarified before quoting. Agree the accepted model and the client requirements that govern inspection. Carton, wooden-box or another agreed packing arrangement can then be selected to suit the actual part and its finished surfaces, keeping the order aligned with the approved component definition.
